Moving stories

If you click onto "Pre Move" top of this page the first reading you'll come across is "Moving Stories". There are over 40 of them, all written by those who were either at the time starting the move or had already done it and were sharing their experiences. They cover the years 2002 through 2005 and I'm not sure why they stop there unless at some time they were all in the general moving forum, collectively moved for easy reference and then the project wasn't followed up on.

Anyway, they make fascinating reading because almost without fail you can read what was written almost 10 years ago and would swear it was written today. I actually recognize a few people's stories and they are long gone from the islands. I'd wager that at least 95% of those who wrote have left.

I urge anyone thinking of relocating (and mewbies already here who've not seen them before) not to overlook these stories on the assumption that they won't be worth reading because they're outdated. They're as relevant today as they were when they were written!

I remember reading those before we moved. I think I will go back and read some of them now. Should be amusing reading! 🙂

Leaving the stars a moment, I feel I must add my humble opinion under this topic: 🙂

One of the most important, informative, compelling, educational, humorous, and invaluable of stories has yet to be shared: it tells of the personal and professional highlights and challenges of a unique individual - a notable board member - who has experienced all that the USVI offers (good and bad alike) over nearly 30 years.....but I don't want to put OT on the spot.

I would like that. It would be more than a story, instead it would be a best selling book. :@)
