Hello, my name is chance and i will be in st john the 13th of oct. im sure you guys on this post get alot of the same type of questions but a few people i know... have said that you are the biggest help i can get before moving down so a few questions... 1st. What in the hell should i bring.. i have been in the rocky mounains for the last 3 years so lets just say i dont have much of a warm weather clothing selection. so 1st clothes, and the other thing is pretty much just personal items... are there stores where i can get most everyday things, im assuming most will be on st thomas but is it smart to bring anything in particular that any of you wished you had brought when you first moved down there? i would also like to purchase a mode of transportation, most likely a motorcycle or scooter so if anyone knows of a good place to do that or if someone has one they want to sell let me know. ALSO a dinghy... probably gonna need one of those to be able to live on the boat im planning on staying on in cruz bay. what kind of internet access is there? wireless internet anywhere or just internet cafe's with their own computers? i understand that finding work and a place to stay (if the boat dosent work out) are things i need to do when i arrive in st. john but if anyone has something let me know about that as well.. i really appreciate any and all help and hope to be hearing from you...
Thanks
Chance

Okay, am I the only person who thought about Chance the Gardener? 😉

Chance: Warm weather clothes are available at places like K-Mart. Now if you are a clothes snob, or have a special brand you like, you might want to stop by Florida on your way down. Or you can get stuff from LL Bean and other places on-line. Motorscooters and cycles are not the preferred method of transportation on St John. And doesn't the boat you are supposed to live on have a dinghy? There are several places on St Thomas to buy a new one, or you can hang around with the boaties and find a second-hand one.
