Hi. I am a 25 yr old female planning to move to St. Thomas. I am a manager of a retail store in the US and was wondering what retail shops are located in St. Thomas? Also, if it is a big adjustment from living in the states. I will be moving by myself and my family is worried about my safety. Any insight from someone who moved recently would really help. Thanks for your time.

Quite a vague question about retail shops. There are tons of retail sthops. Can you be more specific? We have KMarts, big box discount stores, some chains like Footlocker and Payless.

Hello Kristy,

Yes there are quite a number of retail stores in St. Thomas; particularly in Charlotte Amalie and Havensight but also in other shopping areas like Nisky, Red Hook, Tutu... different types of stores but many are jewerly and clothing. What type of shops are you looking for? We don't have all the assortment of brand stores like Gap, Hallmark, Express, Victoria Secret ect. We have some but not many of this type.

Yes moving to the USVI can be a big adjustment. Do more research and reading, ask more questions. Ask all the questions you can think of you will get more information that way.

I read in a book that st. thomas has FENDI, Tommy, Ralph Lauren, Nicole Miller, and DKNY. Stores like that. I also was wondering if anyone knows anyone who is currently employed at stores like these. Do you know of any really good reading material about st. thomas. Any info would be helpful. Thanks for your time.

This message board is as good as it gets for reading about the island. There is a drop down above of FAQs you can look at. You can order the Settler's Handbook to tell you more.
Yes, we do have those stores here. They are in a different context that you may know as they are stand alone stores in our shopping area. Not in a mall. They are sandwiched between an abundance of jewelry stores.
St. Thomas is a place you should vist first to see if you like it and would want to stay.

Hello Kristy,

Check out some of the books that are at the top of this page; the Settlers is a Moving Guide and Explore is a guide more for vacationing but covers lots of subjects like beaches, what to do, events so is handy to learn about the islands and recreation.

Lots of retail stores, just a few of the ones you named and then lots of other stores.
