my question is when i move to stt and stay at a place like fairview or mafolie for a month or so until im able to find an apartment where do i keep all my belongings (tv,computers,ect.).when my things are shipped from jersey to stt in container will shipping company rent me that container for a month or so or will i need to remove everything from container and take it to a storage facility. whats typically the best month to move there, as far as hunting for an apartment and job.my guess would probably be right when season ends for both?

thanks for any help,
justin smith

Hey Justin.

It's best to have your packed items held by your stateside shipper until you find a place on STT. Many apartments are furnished so you may need less than you think. Apartments are most plentiful during low season, but jobs are most plentiful during season. Expect to accept a less than ideal apartment and job when you get here, and plan on moving as you hear through new friends and coworkers of better apartments and jobs.

There is a great company I used. I had great experience with them! They are a shipping company and storage too. You set up storage with them, everything via phone and fax and CC #. You ship all off your stuff they receive it, put it in storage for you until you ready to pick it up.
it called deliver it their # 340-776-8660
their site is

hope this helps... PM if you need ant other info...

GOOD LUCK!

I used DeliverIt and their stateside equivalent to pack and ship a pod when I moved. I didn't ship everything right away-- just the "essentials" (which, of course, were really not so essential after all :D)

I had the pod brought to me as soon as it cleared customs. As for jsmith's posts, it sounds like he will need access to the items. Not sure if that is possible if DeliverIt stores the pod, but you can ask them.

Another option would be to have the pod delivered to a rented storage locker at Fortress Storage.
