Hi,

Mi fiance and I will finally be moving to STJ on 4/29 and we'll have our 2 cats. I'm asking to vet to prepare the documentation based off the info on this website - so I just want to be sure it's the most current info. Not sure if these requirements ever change...my luck they would and my kitties would be stranded!!

Just let me know if there's any other site I should be checking or anyone to call.

Thanks!!

hi laurel!

what a coincidence!! my hubby and i are coming to STT on 4/29 with our 3 cats!!

i've been told that you'll need health certificates from your vet for each kitty. there is no quarantine period; all you need are the certificates. also, i recommend that you ask your current vet for sedatives for the kitties so that they'll be calmer during the flight.

Everything Celeste said was right on.
Only thing I would add: if you get sedatives, be sure to administer them sufficient time before the flight. Not only will this ensure they kick in before you hit the airport, they will also lessen the anxiety around taking kitty out of the carrier for security. Yes, they actually make you take kitty out of the carrier and walk him/her through security. If you don't have a leash/collar, this could get VERY ugly.

Interesting...I talked to my Vet and he said he wouldn't suggest sedating them. Maybe I'll ask again! I've already bought the collar and leash for security....I can just picture closing down the airport due to a cat on the run!
