I am planning on the big move from Florida to St Croix on March 2. I am having so much difficulty finding a way to bring my two dogs. Most airlines wont accept dogs as cargo and they're are too large to be carry on's.
The two airlines I found that take pets: One wont accept my dogs breed at all and the other is EXTREMELY expensive. Does anybody know of other ways? Maybe Charter a boat, or smaller non commercial plane for the trip? Maybe Shipping?
Any help is greatly appreciated because leaving them behind is not an option.

Have you checked to San Juan PR and then maybe a charter? I know a lot of dogs get sent out of PR via Delta. Your dogs will love it in St Croix.

Most major airlines have no problem transporting pets and size isn't usually a problem as long as you have a large enough crate which meets airline standards. March isn't hot so temperature restrictions aren't the issue so I'm guessing your dogs are snub-nose breeds?

If so, few airlines will transport them. If you found one which will, you may have to budget that expense. A boat run isn't a feasible option on such a long haul. Sorry not to be of more help but whichever mode of transportation you choose is going to be an expensive one. There have been a couple of related threads on this forum so check via the search engine.

Yes he is a stubbed nose breed. It is very difficult I am checking every small airline company I can find online. A friend owns a boat in Key West, asking him for his advise (maybe he knows of a charter) fingers crossed.

Hello,

I just sent you a private message here telling about a possible charter trip we could share. Us going to the States and you returning to St Croix. Please check your private message mail box and let me know what you think! Thanks.

I went through delta in Jan. My dog was on their banned list but I was out of options so I booked her and waited to see what happened. They really didn't check at all. I think their ban list is really for warmer weather. I also asked the pilot to go check on my pet before we took off to make sure she was on the plane. He knew her name when he came back because we put it on the Kennel. It made the flight better knowing she actually was on the plane.
