The best spot for a mooring depends on what you will be doing here. Are you going to liveaboard and work? If so, where? If you don't know where yet, what would you like to do? There are several anchorages on the south and east end of St. Thomas. Some are close to downtown and some close to, or in, Red Hook. The Cruising Guide is probably the best source of info regarding depths, but 4.5 will get you just about anywhere. So, let us know a little more, and we can make suggestions.

Mike: You have to go through Department of Planning and Natural Resources for mooring permits, boat registration etc. They will help you with allowable mooring fields and the method of staking out a spot.
