Why stay home when the daily grind of trying to make ends meet is such a bore. A few days at the races and some spins on the gambling tables meeting potential investors isn't really "fun" at all. A huge racetrack and casino on STX complementing that mega-hotel financed by the Chinese will bring in huge revenues to cover the financial deficit and make the USVI solvent - and there'll be more than enough left in the kitty to cover those limousines and so many more necessities.

It's a travesty. Mapp wasn't even there for the funeral of officer Javois.

The Chinese have just sunk 3.5 Billion into the Baha Mar mega hotel in the Bahamas. Why would they build a competitive hotel anywhere in the USVI ?

Mapp said during Tuesday’s press conference that the trip will allow for further discussion on a “potential deal” that could result in the establishment of a “major brand hotel” on St. Croix.

Well the Bahamas are not US soil is a good reason and a competitor to the Baha Mar group could easily be interested - I would love to watch the hearings on a Chinese Hotel when they get held in the Legislature - LegitTV is entertaining now, that would be a show stopper.
