Greetings,

I lived on stt for 2 years and I am returning this October for another few years. Anyways I left in June and I left my (disabled, but running) sidekick on the side of the road in mandahl. My friend told me that I have an abandoned vehicle sticker on the window and I have til the 28th to remove it. So here are a few questions...
1) How much does it cost to tow and dispose of the jeep? and do you know of anyone? (friend or company)
2) If i don't tow it, how much will i have to pay the police department?
3) Anyone want it? 94 sidekick, runs and drives, but has trouble transferring power from engine to wheels...

Thanks for the help,
-J

I think th fine is $500. You can call Bobby and he will tow it for you., 340-775-0926. Shouldn't be more than a $100.

Ronnie, isn't there a charge at the land fill also? They have to drain the fluids, etc.

BTW Crewguy, we have had huge problems trying to get abandoned cars removed from our property. I would ask you to please take care of your car *before* you leave island next time, pretty please? 😉

Once it is towed the charge is $250 for the 1st 15 days payable at Property and Procurement Dept. -- and if not retrieved by then -- the fine is another $1000 - yes $1000! --- you can contact the administrator at 693-4342 or 774-0001.
They are towed to the VI Recycling Center at the Bovoni Landfill.
Once it is tagged ---- but before it is towed the fine is only $25 -- my advice-- move it now!

Abandoned cars are one of the biggest eyesores in the VI. Just sending a shout-out to all, not just crewguy, to please, please not leave you car on the side of the road, or anywhere. Take care of disposal before you leave. I personally think the fine should be HUGH for leaving a car on the side of the road! Thanks.
