Do you know the name of the beach west of Carden Beach ? You enter by the fence west of the hedge of bougainvillea. Once you get by the monster pot holes the dirt road gets better.

I do believe you're talking about Coakley Beach.

That is a great beach except for the pot holes

Thanks for the name. I thought it might be Coakley Beach. Also all beach goers please pick up your trash and a few pieces left by others. I carry trash bags with me as part of my beach kit.

That beach is notorious for trash, unfortunately - Ziggy's and some other groups organize a clean up a few times a year. A shame people don't pick up after themselves, we always take two garbage bags with us to the beach and usually leave with them full.

Picked up some friends from the cruise ship yesterday and gave them the whirlwind tour. One of the first comments (in the first 10 minutes or so of the car ride) was "Littering must be a popular island pastime".

We call it blunt beach because the very first time we went there 8 years ago there was a big cigar stuffed marijauna joint in the crook of the tree. One of our favorite beaches and most of the locals that go there have become friends. We always carry garbage bags as well to pick up trash before we leave and hand them out to others to try and set an example. Sometimes you just have to keep doing things over and over and people get it eventually. Culture is culture. It takes time to make changes when people have lived a way all their lives. It doesn't mean that they are bad people.
