I know it can be challenging finding a place to rent with a dog. I have a 3lb yorkie who is potty trained. My friend and I are moving to either St. John or St. Thomas in May. We are taking a couple trips down there before we move. But any help would be appreciated. Also if you have any suggestions what island you think is best for early 30s. Thanks

My 9 3/4 pounder can beat up your Yorkie! 🙂 I suspect it might be easier to find a place to rent with a teeny dog than say, a Rottweiler. St. Thomas will be less expensive to live on & probably have more rentals to offer, especially with a dog. I don't know what kind of work you do so that might factor in which island to live on.

As Trade said, finding a place with your size pooch will be much easier than with a larger dog. In my experience, landlords on STT were reticent about renting to dogs less because of doggy-mess, but that they simply don't like dogs. Folks seems less concerned about toy dogs. In any case, when you meet the landlord on your look-sees, play up how well-trained and QUIET he is. That will go a long way.
