Need to furnish STJ condo

Hi everybody, I am new to this board and would greatly appreciate any advice you could provide. We need to purchase all sorts of kitchen supplies (pots, pans, glasses, bowls, cookware, etc), electronics (TVs, alarm clocks), and bedroom linens/towels for a condo that will be used mainly for rentals on St. John? What are our best options for getting this stuff over to St. John? What stores are available on STT that you think would have these kinds of goods? I guess we would rent a car, probably on STT so that we could transport everything back to STJ. Thanks in advance for all of your ideas and suggestions.

Welcome, Pete!

I have bought lots of stuff both on island and off but I am most excited right now about the things I ordered from Crate and Barrel and had shipped. I went into the store stateside to check out the items, then placed the order. Shipping was amazingly cheap--for example, around $25 for a large, bulky floor rug!

I'll let you know when it arrives (I was told 3-4 weeks and it's been 2 1/2 weeks), but assuming the stuff gets here, they've got a terrific selection of island-style furnishings and general housewares.

Other tip: I load up on luxury linens stateside whenever I can--way better selection there and much cheaper.

Best,

Islandlola

Thanks for the Crate and Barrel tip. But I don't know how to get around the problem of not being on island to receive the delivery. I probably won't be in the unit for longer than any 2 weeks at a time and I would never know when I might be receiving the delivered items. That's why I thought I might be best off by going into STT and actually buying the items myself.

Welcome Pete,
Lands End is the perfect resource for what you need in linens. Their shipping is inexpensive, really inexpensive. High quality products too. Call The Mail Center in the Marketplace or Connections downtown and ship the boxes there just before your arrival. A large villa management client of mine has used Lands End regularly and receives the boxes in under a week she says.

I am sending you a PM. I source this kind of thing on a larger scale at work.
