I resurrected a related thread but see I'm not getting a reply since my post is at the bottom of an older thread so I'm re-posting here:

I have a LOT of wood (cherry, walnut, and a set painted white) that was damaged in the recent move here. An insurance adjuster came out today to document the damage but so far I haven't been able to find a furniture repair place to give estimate for repair on STX.

Does anybody know of or can recommend:

1) a service that can refinish wood furniture (including fixing scratches, gouges, and paint overlay from movers hitting the walls with furniture)?

2) a service that can repair a goose-down stuffed microfiber sectional? It wasn't shrink wrapped at pick up but somewhere between storage and consolidator someone did but allowed moisture to get in an stained the upholstery (we can't get it out with anything we've tried.)

I checked www.viphonebook.com but didn't find anything. If there isn't a service I suspect I'll have a battle on my hands as we have full replacement value insurance and I'm sure the insurer will do anything they can to not have to pay for it all.

Any recommendation is greatly appreciated.

Is Cruzan Hardwoods still around??
They used to be located in Gallows Bay nxt door to Travelers Tree. However it appears Travelers Tree has taken over almost the entire strip mall (Yeah for them.....glad to see some one able to thrive in this economy).
I know of an excellent refurbisher, but he is located in the states...........Hope this helps.

I used a guy in the same little mall as Subway & Rebound across from the tennis courts by Canageta ball park. Can't for the life of me remember his name or the name of the business (it was about 3 years ago). I'll try to remember to look next time I drive by. If he is still there, I was pleased with the refurbishing he did for me.

Thanks for the recommendations folks. I contacted Mr. Dunigan first and he came out the same day (today) to take pictures to do an estimate. Seems like a decent and very competent gent so unless things go awry I'm all set for now.

Thanks.
