has anyone been to the new restaurant at the carambola? i heard it was an upscale steak house and was curious.

I think you were miss informed by someone as Carambola Golf Club Restuarant being a new steak house. All that is really new is another new chef with a "new menu". This place has had a long line of people(chefs) who have tried to make a go of it at the restaurant over the years. For a variety of reasons all have left. As for upscale, the menu is "pricey", which can be a factor to consider it upscale as well as the fancy worded menu items.
