I need a mechanic to look at a 2004 Jeep Wrangler. There is a popping noise coming from the front right axel. I am guessing it is a CV joint, but am not 100% for sure. It is terribly bad out of alignment, which is obvious when you look at the tire wear. This is likely because of whatever is making the popping noise. Can anyone recommend a shop to take it too on STT and provide some contact information? Someone who specializes in front end work and/or is good with jeeps would be great. Greatly appreciated.

Someone I work with recommended ELDER AUTOMOTIVE which is kinda near the airport. Does anyone have any experience with this shop?

Rob

I am looking for Kimba's number in the phone book with no luck. I am going to take it to Elder's at 7am Friday, but I would like 2 opinions so if I could take it to Kimba as well that would be great. Some mechanics on island require an apointment, and I want to make sure they are not too busy to have a look. Any chance you have some contact information?

Elders did good alignments for me before due to our terrible roads.
Last time I went, I replaced the inner tie rod in a hurry on my wires car, it was dead on, so I had to pay for them telling me so..

After a miserable experience at "western auto" aka "advanced auto parts" Elders now has the Jeep. They made the problem worse and made the jeep almost undrivable and gave me a answer of "sorry, you don't owe us anything, but we can't fix this." I have a much better feeling about Elders. Wish me luck!

Elders! Two thumbs way up! (tu)(tu)

Jeep needed a sway bar, tie rod, and U joint. Parts from the states arrived in 3 days if he can not get them here. The work is professional and well done. They even took the time to show me exactly what was bent, gave an accurate and fair estimate and performed the work as promised.

Elders Automotive 340 774 4022
40-C Contant
St Thomas, VI - 00802

They are located near the airport behind the old dominoes gas station.

If you want your car worked on that day you need to have it there at 7am. It is first come first serve and apparently they are very in demand.

I hope this saves someone else lots of headache.
