We need to take advantage of the Financing program that the Energy Office and Bevan Smith has announced. The Energy office is now offering 50% Financing at 1% interst payable over 5 years. Thy are also giving a 50% rebate, so there is no out of pocket expense for the consumer. They are collecting the payment in your WAPA bill. The way the financing is designed, the money you save from switching to a solar water heater is more than the payment for the loan, so you will actually put money in your pocket when you purchase the hot water heater. (Using a solar heater will cut from 25%-30% off your WAPA bill) Besides the financing and rebates, there is an additional 30% federal tax credit, so you really can't lose on this deal. Call the Energy Office and ask for an application 773-1082. They will give you a list of reputable vendors they have worked with. Their web site is Energy Office The new Energy law makes it possible for condo owners to now put solar and PV panels up. The covenats and restrictions that Condo owners have are not enforceable when it comes to erecting wind generators or adding solar water heaters or PV panels.
