Noticed this on St Thomas

Got back from St Thomas earlier this evening. I live on St Croix. Got the chance to drive all around the island, mostly main roads and into Frenchtown. Couldn't help but notice how great the roads were vs. St Croix! Wow! Newly paved, hardly any potholes. Clean streets, didn't see one stray dog, saw plenty of those 'cat cafes,' prisoners were out on Sunday doing side of the road work.

I mean, it was great. I know St Thomas will always get the better treatment, and I am not whining, but....we really have messed up roads on St Croix!! I know we have several works in progress but the overall differences were striking!

Sorry to say this but when we from St. Thomas come to St Croix we say he same thing. The grass is always greener on the other side. In reality, it's not. We have bad rods too! Some years St Croix gets new roads, some years St Thomas. This has been going on for years. Also your statement about St Thomas getting more has been going on for years.
Note' Cat Cafes are a project of the St Thomas humane Society.

True. I felt like the country cousin driving around. You guys even have those fancy electric digital construction signs! We have flaggers... Sometimes...Enkai Sushi needs to get a better directional sign. You think you're driving off the pier. It's like finding Hanger 18. How does Buddha Sushi compare? We will try it next time, maybe. I thought Magen's Bay was one of the prettiest beaches.

Is there a prison on STT? I thought there was only the one on St Croix. And for sushi my pick is Lotus in Red Hook. Justin

There have been significant improvements in the St Croix road system in the past few months thanks to federal grant money.

The work is continuing. It's a bit inconvenient following the detours, but it's worth it to see the better roads.

Kon Tiki is in the mangrove, but Studio Hair is next to Enkai. Any news?

May try to get out there tomorrow.

With so much water runoff pouring across our roads on StX, and zero maintaining of ditches and guts, its no wonder the roads are falling apart. I was cutting thru Glynn & Friedensfeld area along Midland rd and it was underwater with runoff after yesterday's midday downpour. People's yards were rivers & lakes. Kept expectin floatin goats!

Good morning, all ~

Enkai planned to close for September/October anyway. They were cleaning up yesterday and do plan to re-open. Studio Hair looks OK. Lots of trees down in that area and the small fishing boat that was at the end of the dock is gone. The storage shed next to Kon Tiki's was mine - lost 80% of what was in there:-( Oh well, just stuff. Stay safe everyone!
