Does anyone know what an RN can expect as far as an hourly rate there? Are there nursing agencies? Thanks. (I am an ER nurse)

bettyboop: Here is the website for Schneider Regional on St Thomas: http://www.rlshospital.org/ There is one hospital on St Thomas and one on St Croix and both have very, um, busy?, ERs. Marcy Cohen is the nurse recruiter and I am sure they have ER positions open.

The rate for Pharmacists dntw8up gives in the example seems about right(I have a friend in that biz, don`t know about the rest, seems low to me).
Though, I know this isn`t dntw8up figures,just a guide line.
The rates given for electricians were low as well(but these were for full time workers,I`m sure.not close to what a end user would pay).

Physicians and Surgeons make MUCH MUCH more!(as do the rest.).

I`m told the RN rate of pay here is terrible(even though, our rates here for say a broken leg are MANY times the national average).
I have a friend who left here to pursue much higher pay, @ much lower expenses.

The decision to live here is not purely economic!

dnt: If you have the time to check (;)), you might see if you can find the list that was printed in the Daily News several years ago when they listed all the executive branch salaries. I keep a copy at work, will try to find the date. Of course, everyone made such a big stink, they may have removed it from the archives. It is sometimes useful to see how much a government employee makes. 😮
