Reno is where my daughter and I converge when stateside. She lives in Mammoth Lakes, CA and heads to Reno every chance she gets. Next year we'll be heading up that way for Burning Man. Just the hippie in me I guess!

When you get to STT look me up! Made some good friends already and while it is quite different from STX (my preferred location) it is still pretty cool.

Linda

Hi Linda! Burning Man just ended, we saw all the white powerdered cars heading back today! We dont go as it feels like we live Burning Man every day here...just cant burn anything until Winter as we would start the whole desert on fire!

We will be moving from the high desert near Reno, and my main beef has been adjusting to the humidity.....cant wait to see how you adjust! I am sad as the flip flops will soon be going into hibernation as winter is coming.....

I was raised in NJ for a couple of decades so me and humidity ain't no strangers. So moving out to NM was a pleasant change for awhile. But as the temps increased and the winters started getting to these old bones I started yearning for warmer, less dry, alternatives. Started studying this board and the islands and soon it became a no-brainer; Da Islands are fer me! Of course, I arrived in what Dan called, the most humid part of the season (not to mention hurricanes). Took a short walk (1 mile to the store) Wednesday and was soaked to the skin by the time I got back. And it wasn't even raining... Slowly starting to adjust to it and, when the trade winds come it shouldn't be too bad (I hope)... First visit to STT several years ago was in February and really nice...

So if you plan a PMV come in the late summer or fall to 'get the real picture' of humidity... As for your flip flops, mine are wearing out so just send them on and they'll never see hibernation again...

Good luck!

Ha! I was born and raised in NJ, Jefferson Township, north central part....went to college at Univ. of Colorado Boulder, so that was a relief although Winter and myself are no longer friends....should I send my boat down there with the flip flops as I just got done winterizing her this evening, she will be hibernating till Memorial Weekend, maybe you can use my flips on the boat? Ugggghhhh...snow will be flying in two months!

I did my PMV in May and it was humid and rained almost everyday......funny....slept like a baby and my lizard skin really loved it too!

Hope you are lovin your new home.....cant wait to get down there, just a matter of saving mo' money!
