... but think I will wait till after hurricane season when it's not raining a ton.
Steve

We're in hurricane season now and T/S Bertha yesterday dropped some much-needed but comparatively little rain. May and November (both out of hurricane season) are historically the wettest months.

I have always wanted a Land Rover, so may I have dibs if you leave? 😉

I learned to sail on an inland lake. When you capsized, you always worried about what creature was going to be there. Here, you can see the bottom at 20+ feet and so the predators can't sneak up on you. LOL

Yes, it was scary diving on my boat in the harbor, it was worth it to pay someone and just look it over when I was in the islands.
Sounds good on the Rover, I bought it from my mom almost a year ago and it's only got 100K miles on it and like new so since it's paid for shipping it over if it's close to $1,000 is cheaper than buying a new car and I know what I have, no rust or corrosion and it climbs like a dream with the aluminum engine, just slow when it gets over 55 which I guess there it doesn't do.

Yes bring a car BUT not a land rover!! Holy crap. I drive one for our company ride. It's insanely terrible on gas one our hills, which is close to $5 a gallon. $130 to fill that beast. The WORST part is getting parts! We've been waiting for six months for a a new keys only to find that they won't ship here? Um it's just stateside. No clue. So now were in with another place who can hopefully get them. Same for gaskets, and NO ONE will work on rovers here! Trust me, we have a friend who does his best but sell it and get a CRV or rav4 or something. It's really too big too IMO.

Oh and the water here is stupid clear. 100ft vis most days boat diving. Here's a vid of a dive for fun last week. Catalina is beautiful but BRRRRRRRRRRR! No wetsuit diving FTW.

It's nice diving for fun vs work lol!

Great post. Congratulations. I'll be making my 2nd week long PMV in November but you have given me the idea of trying a month long PMV. Would love to find a regular rental or sub lease that the owner knows will be vacant. I could be flexible as to which month I would visit. Guess I'll post in the classifieds soon. Thanks again for sharing your experience.
