Opening a snack vending business on the beach

Hello, I am moving to Stt in Sept. I am looking in to the possibility of opening a snack bar on the beach with permission and the proper license of course. My question is, does anyone know of any ideal locations or what steps I might take to find an ideal location? Do any of the resorts rent concession space for this type venture? And approximately what does a business license cost in Stt? If anyone can help or has any helpful ideas I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

You can find more licensing info at DLCA and you'll need to register business name at Lt governor's office.

To be honest, the chances of your finding a beach location on STT where you can operate a snack bar are so few and far between as to be close to impossible. If you're planning on making the move anyway then the most helpful advice I can offer is to settle in, find a job working for someone else and get to know your way around before even thinking of opening this or any other sort of business. Hope the move goes smoothly - good luck.

There may be an opening at Coki beach. One of the senators has drafted a bill that would require Dept of Parks & Rec to publish vending spots. No info on when that will happen or if bill will pass, though.

Would it be prohibited at Lindquist? I'd think that would be a perfect location....

Yes, prohibited at Lindqvist. Food concession going out for bid but no idea when.

Lindqvist is managed by the Magens Bay Authority and bids will be going out for a concession similar to that at Magens, i.e. a permanent structure, not a food cart/van-type operation.

I think a couple of nice (not ragged) food trucks would be cool.
