Paralegal work on St. Thomas

Does anyone know if paralegal jobs are readily available on St. Thomas? Are there any particular areas of law practiced more on USVI than on the mainland. Are salaries comparable to the States? By the time we move I will have 2-3 years experience working in mainly Elder Law and Business Entities. Are there particular job site or publications I should be looking at? Any and all advice is welcome. Thanks!!

I'd imagine paralegal jobs might be available on all 3 islands.
Maybe this link will help.

There used to be a paralegal or legal assistant association, but I haven't seen any meeting notices lately. I see Tom Bolt's office advertising fairly often. I think he's got the vilaw.com site. I think he also has paralegals that do title searches.

Some of the local and federal government agencies hire paralegals. I think the VI Craigslist has a legal category.

I'm not sure what paralegals in the VI's currently earn (it probably varies depending on which island) but generally speaking wages in the VI's are anywhere from 10% to 25% lower then they are for comparable jobs back on the mainland. Couple that with a cost of living that is about the same percentages higher than back in the states and you get what is is affectionately known as the "Catch-22" of living in the Caribbean.

I used Bolt for condo closing. Seems like a good size office that does a lot of different types of work. If I recall they farmed out the title search to title insurance company.

A title company on St Thomas recently closed and I'm pretty sure I took a class with a paralegal from Bolt. There may have been another legal professional in the class, too.

The University of the Virgin Islands used to have a paralegal program. You should check with them.
