PBS is now on Dish Network in the Networks package.
It's on channel 9047

Before they offered the network pac PBS was ala carte on channel 249.

I see it there. now I have both PBS on 249 and 9047.

I see it is on Sat. 119, all the other locals are on 110.

Alan, please explain.
9047 and 60 are not PBS or local on my Dish.
Do I need to make a call or something? (this should really be more obvious and easy)

I can tune 60 on my. Be sure when you are in the guide it is showing all channels subscribed and not just the channels on a custom list you created.

Neil,
Before Sept 9, 2011 Dish Network subscribers were required to get networks from All American Direct. Since then, Dish is including networks for new subscribers. When this happened we lost the ability to offer PBS ala carte for $2. A few days ago PBS became part of the included network package.
Existing customers will need to call Dish Network to ask for the network "locals" pac. PBS will be included. If you previously had PBS ala carte on ch 249 it should still be there.

Before cancelling All American Direct make sure the "locals" (Dish is calling them locals but they are east coast feeds simulcast via Puerto Rico) meet your needs. The AAD feeds are better channels IMHO.

LindaJ, another step forward.....;)
