Hi there. I am moving to St. Thomas around Sept-Oct and I am bringing my good pooch with me...I have hit a wall on trying to find a condo that allows pets- anyone know of any? I am looking to purchase, not rent. I would love to buy an apartment but it doesn't seem like those exist!! Any info would be great! Also if anyone could recommend a realtor, my calls and emails have not been returned by a few and my parents are there right now dealing with a nightmare with their realtor that I don't want to repeat. Thank You, and yes I have ordered the book...:)

Amy: Seacliff Villas is the association in the Watergate area that allows small dogs. There are a couple of other associations in that area that may or may not allow dogs. A good condo realtor is Fiona Stewart with John Foster 340-775-9000

Amy,

Buying apartments don't exist for the most part because apartments in the USVI are not part of large complexes like in the mainland. There are really no 3 or 4 story buildings with apartments and laundry, pool, tennis courts... apartments generally are part of a persons home. You might rent one level your landlord and the owner of the property lives on the other level. Helps pay the morgage, so people building new homes often build with this in mind.

Thank you both for responding. There is a wealth of information available from you guys about getting a dog there...I am just having a hard time finding out what to do with her when I get there! If you guys have dogs- can you also tell me- are they happy? Are there lots of dog friendly areas/beaches/places to take a dog to roam a bit...my baby girl is my baby girl and I am worried about the lack of discussion on a dogs quality of life- I am baffled by the 50 topics related to people moving there with dogs only being about the plane ride!!! Thanks again, anything to add would be most welcome!!! --Amy
P.S. if Oneika is out there I would love your feedback as well- I see from past posts she has dealt with this!! Thanks again.... Amy
