Yeah, the link worked...but how do I get the actual pic there? I know I've done it before...I just don't seem to remember.

I dunno...I've never posted a photo. I'll bet rotorhead, promoguy or bluwater could help, they've posted lots of photos...

Marty - yes, I vaguely recognize the boat. lol. You missed us a little later as we unfurled the jib for a little New Year's Day sailing to see how quickly our passengers could get seasick. One out of three in under 5 minutes, which meant we didn't get to sail for very long. C'est la vie.

If I had known you were on the beach, I would have come ashore to say Hello. Do you hang out with the kite surfing crowd often?

Alexandra,

Haha! That's a hoot! Joan and I went to Coakley just to be on a different beach for the new Year...didn't even know the kitesurfers were there..but how cool are they? Joan found a site that has instruction on STX...three 1/2 days of training for $600! Ouch! Looks like lotsa fun....but where am I gonna get 3 days???

The Instructor, Bill Kraft, is one of the leading kite-surfing professionals in the world and provides a great instruction program. I've seen him take men, women, and children (including my husband, one son, and both step-sons and a female cousin) and have them kite-surfing by the end of his lesson package. Then many of them hang out together at Coakley Beach or Heineken Beach on the south shore, depending on where the wind is coming from each day, and give each other tips as they improve. Your lessons don't have to be three consecutive days... but once you know what you are doing, many of the kite-surfers are out there nearly every day for at least a couple hours. Apparently it's as addictive as SCUBA diving was for me.

The wind was light on New Year's, so there weren't as many of them out as usual. Some days there will be more than a dozen kite surfers zipping around out there and somehow managing to stay out of each other's way. It gets interesting sometimes when boats come through.

Gonna try again!

I didn't do any spaces as I am guessing I shouldn't tho in my flickr page, there is a space on the title. Harbor view

Also, I made my flickr page private, not public. Do I need to change that?

Islander,

Would it be possible to add a photo forum to this site? It would be nice to have a separate place where we can post pictures.
