Im 18 years old and just graduated high school. I've been looking to move to the islands for a few months now, but I had no skill and didn't want to move down and be miserable and poor, and have to come home with my tail between my legs. I realized I would need a career instead of a job, and after a lot of searching, I decided I want to be a pilot. I start my classes in a few days and should have my commercial license, and enough hours to work in 2 years. I am just curious if anyone else on this message board is a pilot or knows someone who could tell me how difficult it will be to find a job, and what kind of opportunities there are. (Commercial, freight, island hopping etc.)

I want to move to either St. Croix or St. Thomas

Copy and paste for pilot info with St Croix's Seaborne Airlines. 🙂 They're hiring...according to their website.

You'll normally have to start out anywhere as an FO (First Officer) and build time and experience to be a Captain (pilot). But hey, it's a start!
