Another casualty of St. Croix's economic meltdown and WAPA madness, Pirates Tavern at the Salt River Marina has closed it doors. Kim Jones announced this on her internet radio show this morning. Another one bits the dust. When will the bleeding stop?

When they first opened the food was great. A bit expensive for what it was though. Last two times we went the food was not so good. Beans and rice tasted like paste, with an enchilada for $13......No thanks!

The bathrooms were horrible too! It made me wonder,......If the bathrooms are this filthy, do they clean the kitchen or wash there hands???

With Maria's opening in Gallows Bay with cheaper and better food. No brainer!

Sorry Kim!!!!!!

I wonder how this will affect the kayaking tours that leave from the marina. Theft from guests was already pretty high. With even less traffic around I am concerned.

Rats. I thought they were OK, although the menu was a bit limited. The restrooms have always been trashy, they are part of the marina, not specific to the tavern. Maria's is a good place too with reasonable prices but the tavern could be more convenient depending on where you're coming from.

Awwww I liked that place. Don't know about the food but the drinks and sports on TV were good.
