I couldn't find any today. Only wraps. Did I miss them? Where to find them? Usually buy at Cost U Less, but did not have time to go there today. Could have bought at Pueblo but was hoping to get all at same place with a rotisserie chicken from Plaza.

Plaza also did not have small packages of shrimp for jambalaya I was hoping to make. Will try Fish Tails in Red Hook and Moe's Fresh Market in Red Hook.

Didn't you ask at the front desk?

Didn't ask at front desk. They didn't have several other things I wanted so decided to go to another store. Does Plaza usually have tortillas?

Maybe. On STX they are in the Mexican food section - not refrigerated.

That's where I usually buy, too, but was in Plaza. I have never noticed tortillas in Plaza. I just may give up on that store.

Ms411, surely you've lived here long enough to know that not everything is here on the shelf when you need/want it.

Maybe there should be a whole sub-forum here called "STAPLE SHOPPING - let us know right here what you didn't find today on your shopping list, at what store(s) and if and where you eventually found it (exact location in named store, please)." This could segue to great discussions and hints on how to substitute one food for another ("there was no spinach but I tried the kale and it was wonderful!" and so much more. 😀

I hardly ever shop at Plaza. I've pretty much stopped shopping at Fruit Bowl as I find them very expensive for the most part, tho I stop in from time to time to check prices and get an item not available at CUL.

I was in there when they had bananas selling for $1.29 a lb. The owner was on the floor and I told him his price was ridiculous and outrageous when everywhere else sold them for 99¢ a lb. He said theirs were better. I told him he got the same bananas that the distributors sold to other grocery stores but he was greedy to charge 30¢ more per lb. It quite turned me off.

Stopped there the other day to see what prices looked like and noticed bananas are back to 99¢.

Yes, I know you can't always find what you want, but since I've never noticed tortillas at Plaza, and didn't see any yesterday, I was wondering if they sell them at all? The tortillas were to substitute for something else they were out of.

This is an insanely amusing thread like a Monty Python routine. Yes, I have seen and bought tortillas at PE, located either with the wraps or in the Mexican food section on the shelf. Regretfully I failed to investigate further while there today. I did NOT find sesame oil which I haven't seen there for a while (another customer was also looking for it), went to the desk to ascertain that it wasn't tucked away somewhere and then asked one of the managers if she'd be kind enough to put it on a "need" list which she was happy to do.

I haven't been able to purchase the 96 oz. 2 pack Tropicana Orange Juice at Plaza Extra for weeks. They keep saying it's coming. They have the sign taped up backwards on the shelf, soon come. When they do carry it, I do buy a few at a time for situations like this, so I don't get desperate, but it seems like I have to check out PriceSmart to see if they still carry it and if they dropped their prices on most of my staple products to see if the $15.00 renewal fee is worth it.
My shopping list usually consists of three stores: PE, CUL, and Pueblo. I might have to throw in PriceSmart again as the fourth.
