Ok let me have it. I am considering a position as a public school teacher on St. Croix for one school year. Can it be done financially? What do I really need to know?

Of course it CAN be done, people do it all the time. Can YOU do it? You'll have to research and find out. Do a search on "teaching" and you'll have more information than you can possibly use.
You will also need to give us more information about yourself, your family and your expectations. And, if you've never been to STX before, we always suggust a pre-move visit. If you can't afford a visit, you probably shouldn't consider the move.

Melody on this forum is a public school teacher. Do a search on her name and school to see what comes up or PM her. She will be a font of knowledge to you on this topic. She has taught and lived on STX for a year now...
