Where are the post offices located? We will be staying at the Villa Fairview our first month in St. Thomas. (October 1!!!!!). What would be the closest post office and what is the zip code? Is there generally a waiting list to get a post office box on the island? If so, does one just use a "General Delivery" address until then? I've never had a general deliver address, does anyone know if you have to advise the post office beforehand or just start having your mail sent there? Thanks, cant wait to get there!

Sue the nearest one to you is right down the street. I don't think they have any boxes available at this time. The main office may in Sugar Estate. At least that's what I heard another renter form Fairview say today.

Sue you have a couple post offices... Sugar Estate, Charlotte Amalie, Frenchtown, Tutu Park Mall, Havensight... I think I named them all.

Ronnie is right the post office in town is right down the street. The zip code is 00804

Yes several of the post offices have waiting list. Some use General Delivery and others use mailbox ect. type businesses to get their mail.

I would suggest you call the post offices and ask about applying for a box and general delivery information.

Sugar Estate (340)774-1950
Town - (340)774-3750
Frenchtown (340)775-7354

Does three would be the closest ones to where you would be at.

Hi Sue!

When we 1st move here we stayed at the Villa Fairview as well. Since there was a waiting list at the closest post office to the Fairview we decided to get a P.O. box at Beans, Bytes and Websites, a coffee/internet cafe located on the waterfront in the Royal Dane Mall. I think we paid $40 or $50 for a 6 month rental. It is a convenient location to the Villa Fairview and everyone at the coffee shop is really nice:-)

Hope this helps and good luck on the move!!!
