stt may be small but it definitely has traffic and bad roads like all of the island. Because our roads are very winding, narrow, necessarily low mph, it's like going from Garland to Grapevine from one end of stx at least to the other. We definitely have traffic, we just don't have freeways (not real ones anyways) 🙂

Could it be Forte Strade? It is behind the legislature building, connects to Norre Gade. If you want a place to stay in walking distance while you are considering the move, check with Ronnie on this board about rooms he has in town.

13 St Thomas miles are very different from 13 Dallas miles. The roads are narrow, winding and hilly. The max speed limit is 35mph.

While you all love it there, you seem to discourage people from moving. lol We get accused of this all the time. 😉 There is just no way to explain to a potential newcomer how much culture shock there is. As Juanita said, some people adapt to it and some don't. You won't know until you actually participate in life here.

Glacial Energy is in the old Cable and Wireless building and is at 5060 Forts Straede - I have seen their address misspelled as 'Forst Straede' - it is directly east of Fort Christian and runs N-S

Forts Straede? Is that the right spelling? I did find it two different ways; 'ts' and 'st.' The company's linked-in profile has it as "Forst Straede." ha. But, that is indeed them.

Okay, got the general area; Fort Christian is on Forte Strade. Directly east of Fort Christian? Is Forst Straede a new street? I don't know how old the satellite pictures are on Google (I've seen images a few years old).

Any case, thanks! Now I do have a better idea on the area. That makes things easier.

Isn't it spelled "Fortet Strade"? Correct me if I am wrong. It runs right along the public parking lot N-S, partially.

Okay, in another thread you say the business is by Mango Tango. The street (spelling is not a strong suit here) by the legislature is nowhere near Mango Tango, which is in Al Cohen's Mall on Raphune Hill. And it is definitely not "blocks" from the hospital. Come for your visit and report back.

Oh, they moved. And hadn't updated their profile, nor I this thread. Sorry! I talked with them yesterday and got official confirmation as to their location. They USED to be at that address, but have moved now to the Mango Tango complex. Sorry for the confusion. 😎

And will do! I'm flying in on Friday, and flying back out on Tuesday. I plan to check out the shopping centers, general people (people-watch, natives), and the workplace (on Monday). I know it won't be a perfect gauge, but should be enough to get me a good understanding of the feel of the place (that's most important to me; more than the ability to get 6 types of milks at the supermark).

Mango Tango used to also have a store in Yacht Haven Grande -- Glacial also has their offices there now. Could be a source of confusion?

I don't know how much of this is true, but if it is, I would be careful.

Interesting info. Most of it is rate complaints it would seem. So, I'm curious as to what's involved with that. The last couple posts are hard to take as face value (poor grammar, spelling). I did look up the people they referred to: Bernard happened near 20 years ago. And Mole's suit was dropped. I could ask about the rate complaints, but I'm sure they will have value rebuttals -- energy market is so variable. It's hard to see from these complaints if any are really valid contractual breaks, or if they are just consumers on variable plans with sticker shock due to spikes.

And technically, USVI isn't "off-shore." (one comment in there)
