Hello island lover,

I know Vies has a camping area. I think the number is (340)693-5033
Is that what you mean or do you mean camping on a beach that isn't park land with your own gear? The latter I don't have information on.

The following might be somewhat useful:

A while back (over a year) I had called the Housing Parks and Recreation office to ask about camping.

For St. Thomas/Water Island, you can not camp on Magens Bay without securing a permit/permission from the Parks and Recreation Department. You can call them at (340)774-0255.

St. John - no camping in the National Park which includes several beaches unless at designated campgrounds.

St. Croix: You can not camp on beaches that are known Sea Turtle Egg Laying Beaches - like Sandy Point for example. You can call them at (340)773-9696 if you want to ask more questions.

There are a few islands/cays that are protected as bird sanctuaries that would be off limits.

Overall I was told that camping on other beaches (beside Magens, National Park and Sea Turtle Beaches) are "Camp at Your Own Risk".

None would tell me camp at this beach; they did say which ones you could not. You can call them and see if there have been any changes.
