I sent a check (from state-side) for payment of the 2008 property taxes a month ago. Typically how long does it take the US VI government to process checks? How long until I start getting worried that the check was lost?

Mine took about 7 days....but the cancelled checks haven't been returned....we just get a statement of payment from our bank.

Mine took six weeks and I included a stamped, self-addressed envelope as well. I had called the tax office once and they said they were way behind on processing the mail. A copy of the check was with my bank statement.
Edited to say that the people at the Tax Office were VERY polite and helpful!
