Would Rodriguez's be a good place? My rear tire has a slow leak. I'd like to get it done before all the rain arrives.

I went to Rodriguez for my last leak. It was OK. Had to wait a bit. They removed the tire to fix it. Don't remember the cost, maybe $8-10.

I usually go to a little nondescript place on Waterfront. Don't remember the name. Heading from town towards the airport it's on your left, just after Sea Chest (I think-- maybe it's before Sea Chest). Doesn't look like a business from the road, just a small weathered sign, think it says Tires or something. You pull in to a small weedy area and there's a little garage and a few other small junkyard looking places.

First time I went there was memorable. Pulled in, one guy there, he spoke Patois or something. I couldn't understand a word but it didn't matter. I pointed to the tire and let him do his thing. Took him less than 5 minutes, was astonishing. When I asked how much and he said $5, I thought surely I'd misunderstood. Might be the best bargain on island 🙂

the tire store across from MSI on the N. side of the highway in the Carlos Iron building does fast work - Silver Dollar on Main St by the Cemetery does fast work - you can easily buy the same tire repair spike with the glue strips at Kmart, Napa, any auto store, even some grocery stores. $5 is about standard - plus a few dollar tip will bring a smile and buils some goodwill. Rodriguez is fine if they are not busy or Tire Kingdom just around the corner - a few places along Brookman road too.

Great! Thanks, everyone. Gotta pick up some extra candles and batteries today. Glad to see most places are reliable AND convenient. Off topic, but any idea how soon STT will be feeling Maria's effects? I can't seem to find a recent map this morning. Maybe I will find it at the bottom of this cup off coffee in front of me. :$)

Saturday afternoon is my guess. There is also a tire place across from the Texaco in Smith Bay.
