Does anyone know of any psychotherapists or psychiatrists or psychologists on the island? We are moving down at the end of August and I am looking for a job. I have a masters in social work and three year training in psychoanalytic psychotherpy. THANKS!

Hello Sissem,

There are a couple private, one person practices. Take a look in the yellow pages http://www.viphonebook. Also once on island you can look into the Social Work with the gov't, if you are interested in that route. I say once on island because its gov't and often involves jumping through hoops. Also the Dept. of Mental Health and the hospital (which has a psychiatic floor... not sure that is what its called). If you are interested in teaching, UVI St. Thomas campus have both a social work and a psychology degree program - so it might be worth looking into. All the best.

Hi there,
I am researching moving to St. Johns and it is interesting that I pulled up your question. I am a psychotherapist and have my pp in Davidson, NC. If you find out anything, could you email me. It sounds like I am on a quest just like you, but you are further along in your move!
Thanks so much,
Shannon Wilson
