Question about jobs on STX

Greetings everyone,

My wife and I are considering moving to STX and I was wondering what the job market looks like. Can someone point me to the best source to search for jobs on STX? Is there a website or does many jobs get advertised via word of mouth?

My background, I am a retired Army criminal investigator and currently an employee misconduct investigator for the federal government. Is there any need for investigators on the island? If not, I have no problem changing directions and doing nearly anything. Since I already have military retirement income and disability income, I really don't need to make a bunch of money. Just looking for a job to occupy myself and make a little fun money.

I have read online that most of the jobs on the islands don't take people stateside very serious since they are not in the local area, which I can completely understand. So I am aware of this factor.

Any information provided is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

With all the federal dollars pouring in here, I would imagine that it would be easy to get a job as a fraud investigator.

Maybe you could just transfer down here if you already work for the feds.

Most of the federal fraud investigators for the Caribbean at located in Florida. There just isn't enough investigations in the Caribbean to justify a job positioned in the islands, which is why people in Florida cover the Caribbean (STT, STX, STJ, and PR).

I wish my job would transfer to the USVI. I would jump on that like a fat kid on a cake! 🙂 lol

An employee misconduct investigator for our Local Government would most likely mysteriously disappear his first day on the job.
