Hey everyone! We finally got pre-approved and are just to make an offer on our condo! Only question we have left is about renting it out until we move down there...
Do any of you owners that rent out your place have problems as far as getting renters? We're wanting to do it for more vacationing types and possibly short term rentals but aren't sure if there are any places that attract more than others. Our only thing with that is when we do get down there, we're going to want to probably move into the unit ourselves. and don't really want to be in with all the vacationers.
Thoughts? Sorry if it doesn't make sense!

J & A: Don't know which condo association you are with, but check the association rules. Many have a designated rental agent and rules about short and long term rentals.

Thanks! We haven't made an offer yet, just have it narrowed down to 2 or 3...I'll try to look into that!

When you look at the condos for rent, find out which ones were rentals.
We just bought ours, and our intension when going down to buy was to rent it out like you. After seeing how tore up the rentals seemed to be, we bought one that had never been a rental, and IF we do rent it out, it will be only to people we know.
