Kind of an embarassing question, but is a prescription required to get birth control pills down there? I know in some other Caribbean islands, no prescription is required, they just sell them over the counter in pharmacies. Also, the cost on some islands is MUCH cheaper than it is up here (Ohio). Is this the case in St. Thomas as well? Thanks!

Same rules here as anywhere else in US territory.

Ditto Linda J's post. With insurance you are looking at the standard $10/month.
The only thing different from the states...you probably won't encounter a pharmacist NOT willing to fill your prescription due to personal/moral/religious reasons.

I buy my BCPs from a foreign pharmacy, have for years. I recently received 6mos worth here on STX faster than I did back home! I think it's $68 or so for 6 mos worth of generic Diane-35.

I thought I read somewhere that you could buy BC over the counter in the BVI.

Can anyone confirm this?

no, in my experience you can't buy bc's otc in the bvi. also, the selection is very limited & from what i've found very high-dose ocs (older rxs than some of the lower dose ocs avil today).
