Question: Mortgage Co's & Pet-Friendly Complexes on STX

Hi everyone! We're getting closer to buying our condo but I just have a few questions...

1) Can anyone recommend a mortgage co/bank? Or who NOT to go to?

2) I have a partial list but not sure how up to date it is...looks kinda old...I am wanting to find out which condo complexes are pet-friendly.

3) The ones we really like (aren't pet-friendly though from what I know) are the Mill Harbor ones...Anyone have an opinion on them and that area?

We're going to explore more when we come down in June and I've put out info to get on some different banks for mortgages there.

Thanks for all your help! Can't wait till the big day comes!

Flagstar Bank is a good one. They do bad credit to good credit. If you have amazing credit you can try Scotiabank or First Bank, Don't bother with a broker.

We are currently at Mill Harbour and cannot wait to leave. We are renting a 2b/2ba unit and it is filthy and unkempt. The owner of our unit, whom I believe lives on site too, has not made significant repairs in quite some time. We have looked at other units and have seen some in better shape, but overall, I would not purchase a condo here.
There is a "lagoon" here that claims to be some sort of habitat, but I have seen some things in there that look awfully like solid human waste. There is also something draining right into the "beach" area that smells like raw sewage. Occasionally when we turn on our faucets, there is a momentary smell of sewage.

Our next stop will be Schooner Bay. They look a bit more modern than Mill Harbour, but we shall see.

The only pet friendly place I know of is called Ocean Terrace, but I do not believe the units are for sale, just for leasing.

Best wishes
Brandy

Thank you SOOOO much Brandy! We've already got dates set aside to look at places and our realtor even said that she wasn't sure how we'd feel about Mill HArbor and thinks we'd like Colony Cove and some other complexes better. But, we'll see! We're really just getting a 2nd home/condo and then are going to rent it out and then buy another one when we move there.

Please keep me posted on your search! We could always use some tips! We're not sure as far as pets so it's not a requirement. Thanks again!

Thanks for the info! our realtor mentioned that she wanted to show us some in there if there were any available. We won't be down until the end of June.

She also mentioned that we may like colony cove, she doesn't seem to think we'd be happy at mill harbor. we're going to rent it out until we move down and either live there or buy another one. We really can't wait to move!!

If anyone as any opinion on ANY complexes, we want to stay w/ condos, not single family homes, we're open to suggestions! pets or no pets is cool.

Thanks everyone!

Take a look at STC, one bedrooms, located at the North end of the Christiansted Harbour. Or The Reef mostly one bedrooms, on the east end. We chose STC because of the view. As of last week there were 3 or 4 units for sale. Needed some refurbishing, but much nicer than anything at Colony Cove. Colony Cove does have a nice beach however, but it also has the projects right accross the street as does Mill Harbour. Also if you don't mind being away from the ocean, check out Questa Verde. One, two, and three bedroom units. Very nice complex. We stayed there while we were looking to buy.

The Reef actually has 50 one bedroom units and 51 two bedroom units.
