Hello to all. My name is Dani and my husband Josh and I are moving to the VI in May 2010. (not sure if we want to move to STT or STX doing a PMV in Jan to decide) My question is I have some experience in property management and right now I am a branch manager for a bank here. We are relatively young I am 23 and he is 26. I am interested in getting into property management again when I am down there, do positions like that come open very often? Does anyone know where to look for such a position? Of course I know I will not get hired until I am on the island. I have been frequently looking on www.career.vi and in the island trader, but I have yet to see anything. I also wanted to let everyone who contributes to this board know how wonderful and helpful it really is. I cannot thank any of you enough. 217 days to go : )

There are some limited property manager jobs available, but it they may not be what you think. They tend to be on the smaller locations, some as few as 10-20 apartments. So they expect that you will do some of the mtc work your self. There are lots of peoplerty management companies down on the island, a mlot from the real estate companies. I suggest that you call the big ones (ERA, Centruy 21 etc. and talk to them. Get an idea from them as to what is available. Also look at the island trader on line. There are some jobs listed there.

As far as the branch manager job I would not hold much hope out for it. This is the not the main land where there are banks all over the place. Also most banks have managers that have been there for years and they don't retire often. And most banks like to fill these jobs from within as a reward for doing well.

Good luck.
