I'll be making the move to Stt in approx. 6-10 months. I'll be looking to purchase an existing home and would appreciate some advice as to a fairly quiet area to look in. Any part of the island is fine, as commuting is no problem. Price range 500k to 700k. Thanks for advice, this is a great board !

Well, that's not hard to find. The only areas that aren't considered 'quiet', are the areas in town, near the projects, or by the traffic. That pretty much leaves you a BIG area to start your search (even though the island is only 32 sq. mi.). Are you looking for something with a view? Close to the water? Secluded? N, S, W, or East? They all have areas that are quiet. I have lived in Wintberg for over 7 years, and I think it's very quiet. I hear an occasional truck or two going down the road, but not often enough to bother me. The Northside is considered 'quiet', as long as you don't live on or near St. Peter Mountain Road...it gets traffic and some cars/trucks can be noisy, Out West, in the Fortuna area, is quiet. Botany Bay may be of interest to you. I'm sure some homes will be existing and available for sale by then. On the Soutside, Green Cay Plantation may have something that you like. And, of course, the East End has some very nice areas, such as Water Point. I know I haven't narrowed your search any, but I hope that I've helped somewhat. Good luck!
