Hopefully some will reach us. It keeps fizzling out and we missed a bunch of good rain a couple of hours ago 🙁

Maybe we'll get some of this:

Thanks for the web site, I watch NOAA daily just to see what is going on in the Atlantic (wide view). We were blessed this AM with a 10 minute hard rain. Bless the Rain gods! It has been a dry stretch and we look forward to the rain storms BUT no hurricanes. Cisterns are in big need.

No rain on the west end of STX and none in the near future. The woods are so dry I can see many houses that are usually hidden by folliage. I sure wish it would pour!!

Is there a good map of STX available? I do not think the tourist shows enough detail. Where is Crown Mtn.? Other than saying my house is in the rain forest I have a difficult time explaining where it is except off Mahogany Rd.

Thank God for the rain. Our rain dance worked. Right before the rain, however, we were literally sand blasted by the wind over at cane bay today. Had to make a run for the car. I had sand in my ears and eyes. Still have sand in my hair after washing it. Tonight I have enjoyed the lightening. Something I really miss about the states are big thunderstorms.

I'm not thrilled with lightning at all but the rain was nice.

We have had rain and thunderstorms every single day for weeks in South Florida. It's funny, I still feel happy when I see rain because I know it equals guilt-free long showers, even though that isn't an issue for me right now. Unfortunately one of my dogs is petrified of storms, so he is spending most of his time either hiding in the bathroom or squeezed under the bed! The rain is interspersed with sweltering hot sunshine, the kind that makes you feel like you will melt if you stay outside too long.

Does anyone know how the deer in STX are coping with the dry weather? I was worrying because they have a tendency to come down onto the road during dry spells. Also the horses that are chained with no shade or water. Thanks to everyone who has done so much to help, I wish I could be there too.

I was clueless about where the "pipe water" came from until--exactly one week on the island--the cistern runs dry. I didn't know where you checked it, didn't know about shutting off the pump, didn't know how much to order. Fortunately, I have great landlord and he ran a hose and tapped his supply to tide me over. I ordered water and am #50 in line...Rain please come.

I haven't seen any deer lately. Usually they are all over our yard at night. We are on the east end and l looked carefully on the way home and didn't see any horses chained up without food and water. Most had shelter.

The horses I know of out east are really well cared for. The ones I meant are just stuck at the side of the road somewhere near the Projects. I'm hoping someone has taken care of that situation.

How tame are your deer?Aren't they scared of the dogs? We have foxes where I am now, and when I go out with my dogs at night they sit really close and watch us. I love it, but not too sure how advisable it is because of rabies in the wildlife here.

Well it rained a little in AZ today. It cooled it all the way down to 107*. Now it will be both hot and humid. Wish I were there!:$)
