Good Evening! Found my way to town with only a few wrong turns. Found the sea plane port (wrong turn no.2), a nice grocery store (Pueblo, wrong turn no. 3), the post office, & library. Every single soul who I asked for help was unbelievably kind and patient, and believe me, I talked with a LOT of people today. Of note: the lady in line behind me at the post office who knew my address, even though I didn't, because she lives across the street; several women In that rather sad neighbourhood between me and the sea plane port (wrong turn no. 1 - I got turned around in there for a while); the checkout lady at the grocery store who commended me on my wise choice of sale items. Please and thank you everywhere! End of day 2 and it was a very good day. I cannot thank you all enough for your advice and guidance. VT

I guess you didn't run into the young "lady" at Pueblo who asked if I was going to the beach when she noticed I was wearing a swimsuit top under a total coverage shirt. I guess the neck straps offended her. Anyway, won't go back to that store.

Sorry, my typo. The woman who checked me out was of an indeterminate age but older than I. I always skip the younger ones in favour of those who are at least my age, as I imagine anyway, because age and experience, even in a grocery store, trumps almost all. Length of lines be damned; anybody older than 50 is there because either have to be or want to be. I like to think that they want to be because they a) actually like what they're doing or b) it's supplementing a meager (or non-existent) retirement. Breathe in and breathe out and don't write it off because of one bum experience. Jaja, I'm really new here; but respect the customs of the country. VT

Excellent, Vermonter... so glad you had a great experience! WE have been here for about five and a half years and I find that most (not all) of what you get on this island depends on what you put into it. But then, that is probably true anywhere. 🙂

Hi Robbie, I'm from Randolph, down the road from VTC in Randolph Center. The place isn't known for anything. 🙂 VT

Good Morning Vermonter!
I actually have been to Randolph!!! Many years ago!
If there is anything I can do to help let me know....
Also.... In regard to your other thread about recycling.....
It is not at all like VT where most Vermonters recycle everything!
It is too bad that only cans are collected by the Boys & Girls Club over by Peter's Rest.
I guess it is a start.

Robbie: I'm so used to sorting my trash that it never occurred to me that this isn't done everywhere. I don't understand it but I can accept that it is what it is. Thanks. VT
