I am interested in recommendations(both pro and con) for Sunday brunches on STX that you have actually been to within the last year or so. I am looking for your personal recommendation based on your personal experience. Last year we went to The Mix on Mother's Day, primarily because every other place we called at the last minute was booked solid, and while it was adequate I would not recommend it (and yes, I am aware that it is now closed). This year I plan to make reservations earlier and would like to go to a great place.
Your suggestions are eagerly awaited!

The Beachside Cafe at Sand Castle on the Beach. I've seen the menu and it looks fabulous. (Yes, I work at the hotel, but I do love the food here.) I have been to brunch at Blue Moon before and really enjoyed it. I love H2O for everything else, but have had their brunch and didn't think it was the great. I haven't been to Elizabeth's in forever, but was recently talking to some east side friends and they said Elizabeth's has really come a long way from their tentative start over at the Palms and they really think it is a great place now.

I go to Blue Moon brunch almost every Sunday. Their choice of different types of benedicts is really awesome--crabcake, salmon, traditional, and my favorite--croissant topped with goat-cheese, spinach, tomato, onion and poached eggs with the benedict sauce. Yum yum. Sunday is too long of a wait away! They also have live jazz there most Sunday mornings.

H2O is your average brunch in a beautiful location. It is one of the FEW buffet brunches on island and it has mix-your-own Bloody Marys and screwdrivers (which are apparently unlimited) 🙂

Friends love Aqua West for brunch and, while I haven't been there within the past year, I've done very well for myself at Blue Moon.

Thanks for the suggestions. I did not think about the Blue Moon, even though we have been there a few times at night and always enjoyed it. We have only had drinks and appetizers at the Beachside Cafe, which were great, but I think it can be a little bit pricey on special occasions when they have a special menu, like Valentine's Day. We have not been to Aqua West yet but we plan to try it soon.

I'll add my vote for Blue Moon. No only is the food very good, last Nov. we were flying out on a Sunday early PM and our waiter made sure our order was out quickly when we told him of our schedule. We were very pleased. The live music also made it special.
