Hi!

Does anyone know what the housing situation is like in Red Hook, i.e. the availability, prices, etc.? Does public transit service that part of the island, and if so, are there connections to downtown and UVI? And are there any supermarkets near these apts?

Also, are there apts. to rent that are close to UVI? If so, where? And does public transit connect them to campus?

Thanks!

Celeste: Most UVI students live on the west or north side of the island, closer to campus. While there is a public bus system, it is very unreliable (certainly wouldn't want to depend on it to get to class, anyway!) There is a secondary safari bus system that goes on a loop on some main roads. Again, some students use the system, but you need to allow plenty of time.

When you ask about apartments, remember that most apartments are units attached to a home. Yes, there are houses/apartments closer to UVI.
