DOES THE SMELL FROM THE HESS REFINERY AFFECT THE ENTIRE IS. OR JUST CERTAIN AREAS.

The only smell I have ever noticed from the refinery is an occasional sulfur odor that occurs at a certain point in processing each batch of crude oil. If you are driving on the 4-lane highway, there is a corner you go around and suddenly can smell the sulfur odor. You are past it usually within 15 seconds of driving. This is typical to notice about twice a week and only lasts a few hours. The odor does not linger and it isn't heinous. I live just a few miles west of the refinery (down wind) and have never smelled anything at all from the refinery at my home.

I live considerably north of the refinery and the only time I've ever smelled anything is when I'm actually on Hess Road. Odor is not an issue.
