Currently in Montana and having lived in the Hawaiian islands for 25 years I feel the need to get back to island life. My fiance and I have decided on the virgin islands and more specific st Croix any suggestions? We are looking for long term rental and possibly to buy in the future also maritime work.

Hopefully you've read all the information right here on this site (see line of pull-down menus top of page which ends with this forum). If you've not been to the USVI before (or spent just a brief period on vacation) and what you gain from reading inspires you, plan a PMV so you get a first-hand look at island living (it's not Hawaii :D) and get an idea of job opportunities and accommodations. You'll also learn from the research that the chance of finding work here from off-island is virtually impossible.

Do you have some money saved up in case you don't find a job right away? Do you have health care needs? As to suggested read do some reading right here on this forum. You can use the search function to find what you need in regards to a myriad of subjects from health care to cable. After reading come back with some specific questions
