My partner and I are relocating to St Thomas probably in December - depends on job offer - and we are looking for dependable/reputable movers from the states (Michigan). This is all new to us and will most likely be shipping at least one truck (07 GMC Sierra) and household furnishings. We will also be looking to rent most likely long term 6-12 months prefer 2 bedroom home/apt/condo that accepts pets and hopefully some yard for them. Any Realtors or people looking to rent, please post. We are a professional male couple and don't want to encounter any serious problems. Thanks for any feedback.

Hi John
I hope that you have done your homework and really have a good idea what life on St Thomas is all about. Better yet, I hope you have come for a non vacation visit. Please read all the moving stories on this website and do a search for older posts on topics of special interest to you.

You will be told by others here that it is not a good idea to rent without first inspecting the property. Many horror stories and surprises. I would consider renting before arriving only if the property has been inspected by someone you trust and understands your expectations.

Good luck and happy reading.

Thanks, we have been there for a visit/vacation the beginning of October. I will probably fly back to view properties myself, I've heard some of the horror stories!

Did you notice the Classified section on this forum? If not, click on "Forum List" up top. Good luck with the move. Lots of places are furnished or semi-furnished so I'd wait to ship down household stuff at first until you're settled in.
