Hi,
My family and I are moving to St. Croix in the next few months. I have two BIG dogs and two cats. I am very concerned about sending my dogs over in the hold of a plane. Does anyone have any info on this, or other methods of transportation? (Already looked at chartering a plane - don't have 16,000!!)
I would appreciate any help or advice. Emily

I had my big dogs flown from Germany to Oklahoma in the hold of a plane, and they wre none the worse for wear upon arrival. I also had them flown from Oklahoma to St. Croix, same way. It's pretty routine, and we have excellent vets on St. Croix (Dr. Casey Canton for example) who will be happy to give your pets the once-over. I have a German Shepherd, a Rottweiler, and a Weimeraner.

Emily,
I can understand your hesitation; we looked in to every option we could think of to get our large dogs from Florida to St Croix. They did travel in the cargo hold and it was fine, maybe a little nerve racking for us but nothing went wrong.
