RENTING WITH DOGS

I am considering taking a job in St. Croix but have 2 precious Golden Retrievers I couldn't bear to leave behind. I have no idea how to research if I'd even be able to find a place that would allow my dogs. Most places won't allow them. Anyone know of places that rent with dogs?

Not easy, but not impossible. Lots of dog lovers here and mostly tile floors.

You have a better chance if a house is rented unfurnished as many owners don't want dog hair on their stuff. When we were looking we had no issues but many will want a pet deposit. Even places that said no pets were OK after speaking with them.

Just remember that one cannot fly larger dogs in cargo during the summer months (usually May - Oct.) due to higher temperatures so research the airline policies prior to making travel arrangements.

I think United has a less restricitive policy but they go to STT or SJU. Seabone has a policy but no one know what they are doing at Seaborne so they don't follow policies.

I've leased three beautiful homes on STX in the past four years with a large dog, Standard Poodle, no problem. They all were beautifully furnished as well. Our boy didn't make it to this home as we had to put him down at age 16 year year. I've leased through thre different realtors. They are available, but, no renters in condos. Your better off finding a cottage or a home.
